From Sketch to Game
With this project, I've learned that it's very important to plan your game before starting working on it. I also learned that you should not think big in short projects like these. As you can see from the pictures, I originally planned to have many systems in place, such as art, a timer, and a health system, but those implementations did not go as expected.
After I actually started working on the game, I quickly realized the time went faster than anticipated and that it wasn't possible to implement all these features. Additionally, I had forgotten to plan the actual main mechanics of the game (like the main menu and the shooting mechanic that took me like 1 hour to learn and implement, not even talking about the godDAMN LEVELS...). The game also has a few bugs, like the purple & green enemies sometimes going in an unnatural direction, but nothing too gamebreaking.
Anyways, I had a lot of fun in the making of this game and I'm looking forward for more Trijams like these! If someone actually read this post, then THANK YOU, and I mean a LOT by that.
